Project Summary

As part of a branding project for a new company, EVe’s public facing website was built and launched in approximately 8 weeks. Working closely with a UI Designer, the new fully mobile-responsive site was built in HubSpot. Also, a geolocation module was built and integrated directly onto the site.

EVe is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Land Transport Authority (LTA).

Requirements

Being the project manager, designer and developer for the site, these were the requirements the client agreed upon.

  • The site was to be built on HubSpot using the drag-and-drop elements for easy editing.
  • The website must convey the same look and feel as the brand.
  • The site has to be mobile responsive, including the core geolocation app for easy navigation.
  • It had to be launched within a fixed time frame due to a planned press event.
Methodology
  1. Creating mobile-friendly frames. Using the base desktop design from the UI Designer, medium-fidelity mobile wireframes were drawn up in Adobe XD to illustrate how elements reflow into a portrait view. This facilitated discussion within the internal team and the client.
  2. Identifying limitations within the HubSpot site editor. Certain elements could not be recreated with pixel-perfection in the drag-and-drop environment, hence, short meetings were set up to align and compromise on these issues.
  3. Technical discussions were crucial to align with the external developer on the mapping, overlays, and database stack used to ensure everything ran seamlessly.
  4. Setting up the CMS to ensure scalability and customer success. The CMS could allow the client to easily add new blogs, team members and change the navigation bar quickly without breaking any site layout.
Solution

A combination of HubSpot pre-built modules, custom code, and an externally built app hosted directly in HubSpot was employed.

  • The pre-built module sections allowed the client to edit any text, image or video on the site and publish in seconds.
  • The custom code allowed certain elements to behave more fluidly in mobile views while still retaining the ability to swap text and images quickly.
  • The externally built app was tested in a staging environment before deploying on production once the client had signed off.
  • HubSpot’s native tracking allowed marketing and business development teams to draw insights from visitors and interactions.
Results

A fully functional brand launch website was deployed in less than 8 weeks.

With HubSpot’s Commercial Service Level Agreement (SLA) of 99.95% uptime, we could centralise all web assets within one single platform, and not rely on a patchwork of services with varying SLAs.

CTA Forms could be quickly routed to the respective teams for a speedier response.
